FOCCISSA MEDIA BRIEFING

In the last week, disturbing reports have been received of brutal attacks on the civilian population of the Kingdom of Eswatini by government secirity forces, as well as the destruction of property and livelihoods by some protestors. Reports have also been received of some deaths of protestors. Despite the attempts to shut down the internet, social media has seen numerous outvries for help from citizens of the Southern African nation.

The situation in Eswatini is cause for grave concern.

In light of this, the Christian Councils of Southern Africa under the umbrella of the fellowship of christian Councils in Southern Africa(FOCCISA) of which Eswatini is a member, would like to issue a statement to the government and people of Eswatini, as well to the rest of the world.
